St. Paul's by-election

Interesting stunt nominating, but whatever her residency or her sexuality, SAL's problem is more generally a Sun problem--she represents a "Low Toryism" that'd make more sense in the East Toronto of yore, and which by now has mostly vamoosed to the white-trashier reaches of the outer GTA (Clarington, Keswick, et al)

Agreed. I recall back around 2006 sitting in a Timmies in Arthur, Ontario, just west of Orangeville, watching two locals talk about TO politics with Levy's column smack dab on the table. I highly doubt Levy is sparking similar discussions at St. Clair West expresso bars.

Hoskins has been pretty quick out of the gate with neighbourhood canvassing, signs and flyers. His team has come by my street twice already and I'm at the far edge of the riding. His campaign office is by St. Clair and Wychwood.

I haven't seen any evidence of the other candidates yet.

I did see Elections Canada staff canvassing the area to register voters.

If the far edge in which you live is W of Bathurst, you're in Tory dead zone, anyway, and the NDP just nominated...

I'm actually in the far east of the riding, but it's probably the same situation.

Where is SAL's campaign office?

While I appreciate it takes time to organize, the election is only 20 days away! She doesn't have much time to get her name out.

Harper and Flaherty have been pressing the remaining provinces to harmonize their sales taxes for years.

Has the Levy campaign shown much of a presence in the riding? My friend lives in the riding and has received literature from the Liberals twice and the Dippers once, but nothing from the Torys.

On Thursday I was in the area south of Eglinton between Mt. Pleasant & Bayview and saw Levy signs in front a fair amount of homes, for whatever that's worth.

Biking around, the Liberal signs are dominating Humewood and Hillcrest with some PC signs mixed in. However, there is nary a Liberal sign to be found in Cedarvale or Forest Hill, with PCs ruling the roost. A mix of signs in the Davisville area. NDP signs do exist but are very sparse.

Interestingly, ALL signs seem to be on people's lawns. Off the top of my head, I don't think I've seen any posted on public property.

EDIT: And including "Dr." on the Liberal signs actually seems a little arrogant.

*Any* Green signs at all?

Oh, and I predict that everyone'll try to distance themselves from Bryant's Chappaquiddick.
