Ryerson University Overcrowding

Not that I think the protests will be particularly useful, but according to your post, businesses have absolutely no influence on government policies. Right.

"That is true. A lot of people do get useless degrees nowadays. Sexual Diversity Studies...what the hell is that? Male and Female. Bachelor's degree over."

Actually my post was speaking about overall enrollment rates, not the specific area of study. All areas of study can be both profound and useless.

On the other hand overall enrollment levels are far too high. The reason they are far too high is that everyone is now expected to aquire a post-secondary degree. There is nothing wrong with this notion, perhapes it is benefitial to society; however, there is a disconnect between how much we are willing to pay and what the expectations of people are. In other words this like almost all government policy decisions really boils down to one simple behavioural constant: given the choice people want something for nothing.

If administrators at Ryerson are the sheppards, students are their flocks. Intrinsically the objective of these administrators is to increase their importance. They increase their importance by increasing the size of the flock. You can't change this, just as you can't change the desire of people to get something for nothing. That is why there will always be overcrowding and never be enough money.

B/W street just happen to be successful at what they do, with-in the confines of government regulations.

Wall street has been successful at making money for themselves through greed which fed the recent recession that screwed everyone in the market. Whether they did it within the confines of the law is open to debate.
