Good news!
Toronto’s Revue Cinema reaches new lease agreement after tensions with landlords threatened closing
The news comes after a tumultuous summer for the Revue, when the building owners announced they wanted to take over the business from the cinema’s boardwww.theglobeandmail.com
"Oma's German Bakery" will be opening soon on Dundas just east of Roncy. FINALLY something representing this obscure culture
Yeah, that was a cool place, but marginally "German" I'd say...Toronto even lost German "presence" when Otto's Bierhalle said auf Wiedersehen at Queen & Dovercourt over a year ago.
Indeed, and I ate there recently! The worker lamented the loss of the Bierhalle though. The location in Kensington is also looking rather rough these days with lots of grime - I predict it'll close in a year. Must be frustrating operating next door to a shelter...Yes but another one popped up at Waterworks!
- Work to restore the original heritage facade should begin by the end of 2024.
So there's no plan to do that?... I imagine the owner is more concerned with the original exterior/marquee never having been restored...
There are lots of permits visible in your photo. City Building Permit status site shows conversion to residential.Again I have failed to find any info on 2148 Dundas West as there is obviously something going on. I need a YouTube tutorial! Any one know?
