A-ha! So that's where I saw that map of line ownership in the GTA. So GO owns all of Stouffville, Bradford north of Snider, Milton between the Junction and TTR, and the GO sub.
Interesting - though I'm surprised to see that the Kitchener to Elmira line isn't shown - even though it still carries freight all the way to Elimra - not to mention the passenger service from Waterloo to St. Jacobs.
I paid an ungodly fortune for a hard copy of this atlas, but it was getting a little elderly (and well-abused). I'm so glad that I don't have to buy a new one!
UNI4: Good link to the RAC atlas-we here at NRHS National have a really good color printer-I printed out all the listed pages but I had trouble sizing the detailed Toronto and Vancouver maps-but the most important parts came out OK even there. That atlas they are selling is expensive-more than $50-but must be well-detailed judging by the PDF maps available. Thanks-LI MIKE
I have in my collection Lines of Country, a historical atlas of railways and waterways in Canada, including dates of construction and where applicable, abandonment as well as historical ownership. It's 10 years old, but still worth reading, even with the railway abandonments since then.
