I don't ride on Queen's Quay often, but have experienced the dismal "priority signals" a few times in the past.

However, I've had reason to be on a streetcar twice in the past week and both times it seemed the streetcar signals were much more responsive than I remember in the past. Several times the streetcar signal turned green as we aproached intersections, not 15 seconds later like normal. I triple checked and it was never because a streetcar in the opposite direction had tripped the signal. I know this can happen as a fluke sometimes, but this seemed much different.

Any frequent 510/509 riders care to comment?

I havent noticed it. Still see them get stuck at the lights, saw three this morning all stuck at a red light actually.

haha ...

I find you just get lucky some times ... and the luck lasts for a few trips :)

Not kidding, the last 3/4 riders on the 510/09 have felt the same way to me i.e. as if the signal priority is working better. I doubt that's the case though.

I notice that with the subway too :) For 6 trips or so (i.e. 3 days) it's there the moment I step on the platform - then for another 3 days it feels like I have to wait 5min!

The variations probably have something to do with the possibility of supervisors along the route which tends to speed/even things out. Supervisors then move on to the next route when they see an improvement, then things regress to the way they were before the supervisors' visit.

I haven't noticed and I use the route everyday.
I've also never seen a supervisor on Queens Quay. The only place nearby that I see them is on Spadina.

The only supervisor on Queens Quay I have seen have been parked (2) at the Spadina loop.

I have seen no changes to signals other than been fix.

It will be short live as the QQ is going to be torn up in 2010 anyway.

There is to be a final meeting on the QQ EA either in March or April on the final design.

There is to be 1 or 2 more meetings as to what going to happen to the portal.

interesting that you've seen them at Spadina loop. That's my stop, and I've never seen anyone.

Really, I guess once the changes to QQ are made, signal priority won't matter anymore.

Was talking to 2 chief as they sat in both of their SUV last year. They had the AC on full bast at the time. Had a good conversation with them.

Have seen some supervisors there from time to time.

If the prefer plan goes ahead, signal priority will not be require for most place except for a few place. Hope they work better than now.
