Isn't it odd that they have to hire a firm to finish this? Why wouldn't the original firm finish? I get that there was this unforeseen delay....maybe they walked away unless they'd get more money since costs have gone up since it was originally rewarded.

MTO has also shut down the camera on on511 looking over it at this point. I hope it gets wrapped up soon as it's causing about $300 million in work to be effectively a stranded asset. Definitely frustrating to continue to see no activity on the site.

All of this falls under the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, the Ontario Heritage Act and most likely Section 5 of the act. No idea where they are in the process, but the process is laid out in detail, and judging by the lack of any activity on site, the process is still ongoing. I think if we were registered archeologists we could peek into an online data base and see some information on the site.
