As social media algorithms target young men more and more with extreme content, I think violence like this will become more common unfortunately. The U.S. government at this point almost exists to protect the tech lobby, to the point of bullying any governments who dare to introduce any form of tech regulation and alienating allies.

And yet there's increasingly plausible reporting that the shooter was a hard-core white nationalist, and the motive was that Kirk wasn't right-wing enough - despite his racist White Replacement conspiracy theories.
So what's further right-wing than fascism?
I'm not sure I believe it yet. My head is just completely blown.
Though it would be relief to find out that this is closer to an attack by the right, one something being too far left, than a migrant or Democrat shooting someone on the far-right.
If true, hopefully this should calm everyone down - a lot.

Fuentes was trolling and stalking Kirk in hardcore and insane ways. Thought he was a woke wolf in white nationalists sheep’s clothing or something…and went out of his way with his gang of fanbois (as for mentioned groypers) to make life really uncomfortable at his TPUSA rallies to prove that. Yeah, there’s people out there more vile than Kirk…and just as gun happy. /bleah

I want folks who think that all of this stuff goes away once Trump croaks to keep this in mind. He's paving the way for even worse people to slide in during the power vacuum.

^It will only “go away” by putting folks in who will fight back and stay vigilant in doing so. Never giving up. Never selling out. And always pushing for the greater good and a just society, IMO.
