I don't think the Liberals will be reduced to 2 seats like Mulroney did to the Conservatives, but they could easily be down to 20-30 unless they turn things around massively from recent polling (which they won't, because they have zero credibility any more when they say they will fix problems - having been in power for 10 years, they own Canada's problems, and any solutions presented now are viewed as too little, too late).

I think if Trudeau resigned, it would give Liberals with Trudeau fatigue some cover to vote for them as an effective opposition to PP. A lot of people are convinced that Trudeau is needed to defend the Liberal Quebec caucus, but honestly, they are toast anyway.

As much as we find our PM vapid and ineffective, Trudeau is seen globally as the face of Canada. I expect the French feel the same about Macron, asking we hate this tool, why do you all like him?
