It's not. Every country is experiencing economic troubles as a result. Are the Liberals in power in those countries as well?
Tell the US to kick rocks.
Do you know how our economy works? We'd all be poorer if trade was cut with the US.
I know how the economy works but a bad deal for the sake of having one is not to anyone's benefit.
Of all their legacies, this Liberal government is probably going to be most remembered for breaking the Canadian consensus on immigration.
Canadians are starting to sour on migration

My Canadian colleagues of Indian ethnicity tell me it’s even worse for them. As society now sees them and their Canadian-born adult children as default cheap, semi or unskilled labour to be hired and paid as such, even if they have advanced stem degrees from Canadian universities. Trudeau is burning bridges everywhere.Ministers just out there openly admitting to using international students to suppress wages.
This is just a disgusting form of head tax to fund our bloated post secondary institutions. Bring in indentured servants who work to pay off their head tax (tuition) in exchange for the possibility of becoming a citizen in time.Ministers just out there openly admitting to using international students to suppress wages.
As someone who does hiring, I definitely make the distinction between people who have relevant degrees from Canadian (or Western) institutions vs a degree from India with a 1 year business diploma in Canada. My struggle with the latter group is that some of them might be good candidates but it is very hard to determine if they are BS'ing you, especially if there is a bit of a language barrier. My Canadian colleagues of Indian ethnicity tell me it’s even worse for them.
