Our Streets: Church Street, Pt. 1

I loved smuncky's idea of photo-documenting Toronto street by street, so I'd decided to start doing my walk and photo tours in that style (and yes, I have mentioned it to him, I didn't want to make it seem like I was stealing his idea). Unfortunately, the cold weather puts a damper on my travels, so I haven't gotten far. In fact, so far I've only done Church Street from its start to Gerrard. So here I present: Church Street Part One! I intend on shooting from Gerrard to Yonge Street sometime soon.

And at this point I had to go meet my friend for a Jays game. Toronto versus Baltimore, it was a great game. They got a six run lead in one inning, and I thought it was over, but the Jays reciprocated with six runs in one inning and went on to win. A parting shot...

It's amazing what restored facades and healthy trees lining the streets can do for aesthetics.

Thanks! I look forward to seeing more of your updates. It gets tough when it's so cold that you can barely operate the camera with your frozen fingers. They should invent heated camera grips, or something.

And thanks for the comments everyone, I appreciate it. Hopefully we'll get a little bit of (non-rainy) winter warmth so I can get back out there.

Oddly enough, I was at that same Jays game with a friend, and it appears you were sitting right across from us (we were sitting right above the bullpen)! Was that the game with the streaker? Hilarious.

thanks for the terrific pictures. we are indeed, a sexy, sexy city. everytime we get incompetent architects and urban designers, those pictures shown to them for hours on end. church really reminds me how downtown needs more trees.
