Interesting to see more on Magyar coming out now and who he is. He is more like a Mark Carney Liberal, and may still be antagonistic to the EU, albeit more moderately so. He is certainly not a left-wing populist.
He is reportedly very short-tempered, and there's already stories of him screaming at staffers for any failure to do what he wants, though we all know that's not uncommon for people in those positions regardless of where they are on the political spectrum.

Orban should be charged with treason and given the harshest penalty they have.

I am a member of Hungarian diaspora and I have been very happy to see Magyar win. The country under Orbán ran antithetical to the mission of the EU and I am hoping to see their trajectory change under the new leadership.

No more irredentist “Greater Hungary” talk (an absolutely absurd thing for a government of an EU country to promote), moving away from the Forint and toward the Euro, cooperating with the rest of the EU on Russia-Ukraine, and using EU funding for what it was intended instead of stealing it will help the country go a long way over these next 4 years.
