Imagine a network of ziplines throughout the area from the lake up to bloor. Stretching from condo tower to tower, you could create a course that would allow tourists an unparalleled view of the city and a rare outdoor experiance.

A standard zipline de-inclination is around 6 inches of height over 10 feet of length or about 5% ratio.

A 300ft (91.4m) high zipline course would allow travel of approximately 6000 feet of length (1.83km).

Imagine hopping on at Mapleleaf Square or Tiff and riding it down to the roof the Queens Quay terminal. Maybe one from the roof of the Eaton Centre (Cadillac Fairview Tower) down to Queen west over Nathan Phillips Square or across Dundas Square down to Church street.

Hey, you could even make a permanent zipline over the Island Airport Gap. Forget the bridge, send them by wire...

I do think it could be a great way to showcase the city for urban explorers and outdoor adventurers alike.

This was done as a publicity event in San Francisco for the Vancouver Olympics and it was a big hit with the public and media.
