I've just received my renewal form for my vehicle registration and it's missing the Miller tax, even though I live downtown, and my vehicle is registered as being downtown at my address. It's just the standard $74 for a year, as listed at http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/vehicle/stkrenew.shtml. My current registration doesn't run out until April, so I would have thought the fee would be included.

I'm not complaining, but how is the city collecting the fees?

admirals don't have to pay. ;)

p.s, are your sure you are not pat of some secret society? i know that one of my perks as being a stone cutter is that i don't have to pay the fee. ;)

admiral, wait until you attempt to obtain your registration, either in person or at a kiosk. you will be identified as a wealthy torontonian at that time.

Well, they got me. I really do think that an extra $200 a year to register two cars and a motorcycle represents an unfair burden for being a resident of Toronto.

I know Miller and his ilk hate cars and want to push us all into some utopian-socially engineered mass public transit dependence, and tolls will likely be next, followed by some scheme that some license plates can only be used on some days, etc.

Your posts are over-the-top enough to be hilarious, but your disagreeable personality ruins any entertainment that could have been extracted. A pity.
