is haddon hall the name of that building? I remember some cookware that my mother had with haddon hall on it...I believe it may have been an Eaton's house brand....anyone remember that in relation to Eaton's?

Eatons had several things named "Haddon Hall". Here is a rug but there are many others and probably cookware.

Well that’s a kick in the teeth.
The problem is that SOME of these buildings look nice on the outside but left to rot inside. Take the former Commerce Bank Building at 197 Yonge St. It looked nice on the outside but when they opened up the building for Doors Open it was in need of extensive repair.
Given all the issues it is sometimes cheaper to tear down and rebuild. Contractors are not cheap.
I’d forgotten that hydro poles had foot pegs to climb up.
