When were the extra bays on Nelson demolished?

Also interesting to see that the end windows on the Duncan ground floor were extended downward into "doors"...

It has never ceased to amaze me whenever I see an old photo of the Toronto Harbour Commission Building, built in 1917 at the water's edge.
It's hard to believe the scene today in which the building (never moved from its original site) is surrounded by such magnificent real estate.
Truly, a great feat of urban ingenuity!

Wonder if your now photo is taken too far east as it shows the second arched entrance from the corner and it doesn't show the corner of the building as in the then photo.

The corner in the then photo no longer exists - the Simpsons store continued to expand westward in the years after the photo was taken.
