Ah, part of one of those BP "GAS IT!" billboards. I saw a fuller (and full colour) version of said billboard in a Vintage Toronto FB post (on Gerrard E of the DVP)

Continues to be my favourite Toronto building.

Originally called the "coffin block." I presume because of the old building's shape.

The current Gooderham building (1892) completely replaced the coffin block (c. 1830s).

Contrary to popular belief, the current Gooderham building (1892) DID NOT COMPLETELY REPLACE the coffin block (c. 1830s);

The Gooderham Building having only two outside walls, North and South, none being at the West.

But the coffin block was shorter than the Gooderham. Where were additions made to create the Gooderham?
