I think I'll drop this here:

A report to next week's Planning and Housing Ctte looks at the various infrastructure needs from Parks to Schools for mid-town.

A couple of highlights from same:

More detail on the Parks section:

Also in this report is a passing mention of decking over the Davisville subway yard for development and parks; and I have included that info over in the TTC HQ thread.

***

Further, there is a separate report detailing the plans for the new Eglinton Greenline which would be an enhanced, park-like streetscape from Eglinton Park in the west to Mt. Pleasant in the east.

I have including info and renders on that report in the Eglinton Connects thread.

A new parkette is coming to 174 -180 Broadview Ave, just east of Mount Pleasant:

A new parkette is coming to 174-180 Broadway Ave.! The City will be engaging the community to help determine the design.

There's also a new park coming behind the Art Shoppe Condos (its a small, linear space).

Options for the space can be seen here:

FWIW, I'm not huge on any of them.

1) is titled 'Birches'.......we've talked about how Birches tend to work out in this City.........I'm not saying don't use any; but building the park concept around them is high risk.

2) is titled 'Burle Max Pollinator Garden' I like polllinators, LOL; but I question whether there's enough sun at this site, and either way a pollinator-forward concept all but precludes trees.

3) is titled 'Light Woodlands' that sounds more promising than the other two......though w/no species list its hard to assess. But the proposed layout seems sub-optimal to me with a desire to stick
island-plantings in a very small space, instead of one clear path with material planting borders.

At any rate, share your own thoughts, they have a survey open for another few days: https://s.cotsurvey.chkmkt.com/?e=237114&h=A59210C19A11531&l=en

Are there any plans to add another grocery store? I feel like with all the intensification in the area there will be a need for more.

Op-ed piece from the Star:

"The path forward from there needs to emphasize affordability and midtown’s role as an economic, social and cultural destination. Otherwise the Yonge Eglinton Centre is at risk of becoming a textbook example of how urban intensification should not happen." -- Interesting....hmhmmhmhm
