Don't think I will be able to ride any light rail to the Toronto Zoo, within my lifetime or before I'm 100 (whichever comes last).
Maybe a subway is better. What is wrong with extending the existing Sheppard line?

They should just extend it and get it over with. It's time to move on.Maybe a subway is better. What is wrong with extending the existing Sheppard line?

This is about the same cost as the current Danforth Extension and Eglinton West buried. The province should pay for thisCost.

I agree. Just rezone Sheppard East to increase density.Eglinton makes some sense to be an LRT. Finch West also does. But, when you have a partial line of one technology and then force a transfer to another, it just doesn't make sense. It is the SRT all over again.

They're going to have to drop the sheppard mccowan hub to do that. Terminate both at STC.Is there any viable way to reduce the costs here without hacking in Central Scarborough the the exiting Sheppard stub?
If no, then the subway will be rightfully extended to Malvern.
TTC's subway network is "complete" once the following are in place:They should just extend it and get it over with. It's time to move on.
TTC's subway network is "complete" once the following are in place:
- RL/OL to or north of Sheppard
- RL/OL back up to Bloor.
- Yonge to Richmond Hill
- Eglinton to Pearson.
- Sheppard to STC/McCowan.
- Sheppard to Sheppard West.

Maybe then they'll start on a light rail transit network. Starting with the Jane LRT.
Don't forget Eglinton to MalvernTTC's subway network is "complete" once the following are in place:

Jane LRT will never happen as the whole thing has to be tunneled from Bloor to Wilson, if I'm remembering the proposal correctly.
Once the Crosstown and Finch West LRTs are complete, the number of through-trips from Pioneer to Bloor will diminish as the majority of people will either alight at Finch or Mt Dennis.

Bloor-Danforth to Square One, says hello!
