Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Let Mammo run for Mayor. It would be the best thing actually. He would loose badly and would have to give up his seat as councillor. If the Left leaning parties aren't going to nominate a candate for mayor this year then they should invest their efforts in getting rid of useless dinosaur concillors in the inner suburbs like Mammolitti, or Peruzza or Nunziata. There are many many councillors that are lifers and thing political life is a life-long career. I strongly thing we need 2 or 3 term limits for councillors. Too many get elected just by name recognition alone even though they have done nothing for their community. Mammo has been talking about that flag pole and subway for years yet he fights tooth/nail for the FWLRT, the only meaningful project in his riding. Very sad.
 
I hope you’re right. But looking at the suburban voters who form a majority, I wonder if Mammo wouldn’t have a good shot. These people elect councillors who mostly seem to share Mammo’s hatred of the core, disdain for evidence-based planning, love of the automobile, and wounded sense of suburban entitlement. What if Mammo is the real Toronto?

Mammo’s already run for Mayor once; in 2010. He dropped his failing mayoral campaign after six months to re-run for council.

The guy wanted to build a floating casino and ban cars from the Gardiner. It was a WTF?! campaign if there ever was one.

If they implemented term limits we’d just elect Mammo’s kid.
