Markville Renovations and Retail Thread

Arc’teryx opening Summer 2026, second level near Apple.

Did the brand’s outlet sale at the Markham fairgrounds go that well or is Markville finally going upscale? I wonder if there are any other new stores planned in the pipeline… Simons? Lego? T&T?
They've been trying to go higher-end for years but there is always so much space to fill with retail being what it is. There's so much empty space now with HBC, Decathlon, Toys R Us all leaving. I could see some of the HBC space being converted to restaurants,.

I think you mentioned earlier in this thread that it was strange Markville wasn’t more high end given the household incomes of the surrounding areas and I tend to agree. Markville could also position itself as the luxury centre for the eastern end of the GTA but they seem to be more conservative and lack the creativity compared to Oxford or even other CF properties in Toronto.

P.s. I still miss the river… oh I wish I had a river to skate away on~
