It looks like the Markham Bypass will stay in York Region and not cut through the Rouge Valley in Markham or Scarborough...
"York Region may decide June 19 to abandon a long effort to finish a continuous bypass road through Scarborough.
After two and a half years of unsuccessfully working to convince Toronto to drop objections to York's preferred Markham Bypass route over the Rouge River in Scarborough, the region has agreed "in principle" to another route, one the city prefers.
The news is contained in a letter, obtained by The Scarborough Mirror, which Environment Minister John Gerretsen sent last week to York Regional Chairperson Bill Fisch."
