I have printouts of Dylan's skyscraper diagrams from back in early 2000. Its hard to believe I've been visiting these sites for close to 7 years. Things really have come a long way here.
I remember being part of the great switch-over from Skyscraper Page. It was pretty exciting having this forum all to ourselves. Before then, Toronto really dominated SSP.
Since the topic is "excellent" skyline rendering, I'll post some less than excellent early attempts at learning Corel Paint.... my contribution to the SSP pissing contests.
Anybody remember these? In the many city vs. city threads, Toronto's skyline was always being slagged, particularly by fellow Canuck cities.
I used these built/proposed assemblies of buildings to point out how low angle flattering photos posted by Toronto critics did not accurately reflect the true scale (and height) of skylines.
Shut them up for a while too.
You can see how much the SSP illustrators have evolved from back then.
Personally I think there should be an alternate UT site called "Re-thinking Urban Toronto".... www.RUT.ca ... for all the smart people who are never happy unless they have the microphone.
Best to you Ed for the season and the new year! Cheers.
