This is the kind of thing that makes people feel like council hates the poor, or at least anyone who isn't rich. Sad to see my councillor voted for it.

That vote shows how our municipal politics is far more complicated than simply conservative vs progressive or suburb vs downtown camps. Various Councillors usually with pro-urban views have no problem voting "across the aisle" so to speak in order to bow towards NIMBY pressures.
