Yes, Grey Nuns Motherhouse: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Nuns_Motherhouse Ooops ... see correction below!A former convent I believe. Architecturally it is a wonderfully textured city- just out of the photo to the right is Westmount square by Mies van der rohe.
The Grey Nuns Motherhouse (https://www.google.ca/maps/@45.4936291,-73.5757825,364m/data=!3m1!1e3) is over on Guy Street which is now owned by Concordia University and being used as a student residence. Dawson College, pictured above, was a former nunnery. It was La maison mère de la congrégation de Notre-Dame http://patrimoine.ville.montreal.qc.ca/inventaire/arch.php?id_archi=683 The various nun factions owned quite a bit of buildings and land back in the day including Vanier College.Yes, Grey Nuns Motherhouse: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Nuns_Motherhouse
Having lived there for 30+ years I can vouch for the fact that Montreal has two personalities. In summer and on sunny winter days it is bright and cheerful, in winter it is usually quite sombre - Jasonzed great photos show the latter very well.Montreal looks very somber under those weather conditions.
It's usually a bright, colourful and active city.
