How to get to Blue Mountain?

Airport road is shorter by about 20km. If it's a sparsely driven road, then going 100 most of the time shouldn't be a problem.

Highway 26 is truly a pain. I'll try Airport Road on the way back since we're guaranteed to get traffic on the 400 when we come back.

I was delighted to see Blue Mountain Pottery on display in the ROM's new Sigmund Samuel Gallery when it reopened a few months ago. The red glaze, which I collected about ten years ago when people were practically giving it away at garage sales, is particularly fine - and the shapes of their wares are generally quite elegant, if you stay away from the hideous little animal figurines.

Most provincial highways have parallel regional roads or township lines. If one is congested, just move one concession over. It could save you a lot of time.

I remember driving home from Sauble Beach one day and there was terrible traffic on Highway 10. Remembering that Torontonians are oblivious to the existence of rural roads other than provincial highways, I just moved over to the parallel township line and didn't encounter a single car most of the way to Brampton.

Of course, it helps when you know it's more or less continuous, or the paving doesn't suddenly stop, etc...
