Do you really think condos are that much 'greener'?
yes, they are insulated better due to new construction (but have you taken account the 'carbon' footprint of the initial construction?)
If you amortize the new construction affects over, perhaps 30 years, take into account how wasteful most condos are in their lighting, heating/cooling, habits. You will see condos are probably emitt more pollution per square feet than any home.
Last time I checked, not too many condos have a programable thermostat, most are over heated/cooled, and there are always many many lights on.
Let's alos not forget most condos do not recycle or seperate their garbage...
what a great marketing ploy this 'green' living has been... People need to understand what it really means to be environmentally friendly, and not just 'appear' to be green.
