The power of @DSCToronto on display again.....

So, it will have taken 5 years to reopen this key bridge in one of the city's busiest tourist spots. Unacceptable and embarrassing. Why so long? Additionally, how (and why) was it allowed to fall into disrepair in the first place? I'm trying really hard to understand why such things are not prevented.

The bridge is technically the responsibility of Harbourfront Centre, not the City .

They haven't had a solid budget for years.

The last CEO actually did a good job of fixing this...........but after more than a decade, if not two of very precarious finances.

The City is chipping in here......and will secure a deal as part of that that proper ongoing maintenance cannot be neglected.

No, it should not have taken anywhere near this long to resolve. .
