He'll exprorpriate rail lines to widen the Gardiner!
This is what happens when transit isn’t decoupled from politics. We are forever screwed until we figure this out.
For once we have the Feds completely onside for this. All the GTHA heavy rail lines are CTA jurisdiction. I'd love him to try, just to see him smacked down yet again. He's already got a litany of smackdowns waiting...He'll exprorpriate rail lines to widen the Gardiner!
We've had tri-government support for the Scarborough Subway for years and still couldn't get it under construction.
Even if Pickering is promised a subway, what makes anyone think that it would be seriously attempted? All we are doing is wasting valuable time and effort, and paying some consultants fee.
I think Ford is going to get trumped by his own devices. He'll open the door to greater private participation, except they'll dictate the terms to him, not the other way around. Private enterprise isn't going to build a subway to Scarborough, let alone anywhere else where there's no business case. We've had tri-government support for the Scarborough Subway for years and still couldn't get it under construction.

I was curious if anyone would say this. I had thought it.I wouldn't be surprised if Doug wants the DVP and Gardiner uploaded so that he can widen them.

Ya, well the AG disputed this and felt the pension assets should not be added because there is mo way they can touch those assets. Can you imagine the teachers reactions?Another example of how the PC's and Lysyk are distorting the deficit https://www.thestar.com/politics/pr...off-on-fedelis-15-billion-deficit-figure.html
Yes, however that is a reversal of how deficits were calculated for decades. For a long time pensions have been considered an assetYa, well the AG disputed this and felt the pension assets should not be added because there is mo way they can touch those assets.
