Grand Lisboa (Macau): Ugliest Skyscraper in the World?

I might not be a good judge of great skyscrapers, but when I saw this tower going up in Macau, China (the world's newest gambling capital and my father's hometown) I had to ask the question, "what were they smoking?"

The skyscraper in question is the Grand Lisboa Hotel and Casino. The hotel tower is designed in the shape of a lotus, which is the city's official flower. However the lotus is only visible from two sides; on the other two sides the tower looks like any other slab. The casino portion is a massive golden dome below the hotel tower. Very shocking design... in a bad way.

It is, after all, a casino which means that it should be tacky.

That is awesome and awful (as in, I'm 'full of awe'). The second picture makes Macau look like a cross between Brighton, England and a Godzilla version of Tokyo.

And that's why I need to learn from your well developed expertise. So, I'm supposed to like the 4 Season Opera House and dislike that Frenchie thing right? Ok, got it! I will keep that in mind
