This seems silly to me, but at least there's room for access by foot as well. The Ontario Hydro easement is interesting, wondering if it's a historical distribution line of something buried.

We don’t know the final track plan - sounds like ML and CN may be close to announcing something. The link house foundations on the south side do hint at there being a road allotment (houses need separation from tracks) but still lots of rooms for more tracks under the overpass. Let’s hope !

Interesting to me was to see in the landscape plan the plan for the closure of Railroad Street except for transit, with Railroad Street shifted considerably to the south to allow for an additional track, with an off-set exit onto Mill. All vehicular access to the development would be via Mill Street.

I discovered today that the Weston Sub is down to two operable tracks between Parkdale and Nickle… there is actually rail removed on one track just north of the tunnel at West Toronto. No explanation for why, but it certainly demonstrates that the line has ample capacity for expanded UP plus GO .

There were some workers laying geo mat around Queen Street, so possibly some work is happening down there - but a lot of quiet elsewhwere especially around Bloor Blame it on the heat ?

hard to resist the temptation to think in relation to Brampton GO "what if you could shove a road tunnel box under the former CN/OBRY to create a short bypass road (no further than Vodden due to the planned watermain north to Old School Road) and allow Mill Street North to be severed" to create a more proximate alternative route than extending McMurchy north to Pleasantview.

Unfortunate also that the Heritage Road layover will not remove either the Winston Churchill or Heritage Road grade crossings to the west of Mississauga Road, with that being a matter for CN as the mainline owner (according to the TPAP)

Those will get removed likely in due time similar to Mississauga Road as a part of the respective widening and reconstruction of those streets as development approaches them.
 
I must have had @ProjectEnd sitting down the car from me - had an errand this morning and did a phone video of the LSE all the way from Danforth station to Cherry Street.
While (with good reason) we grind ML over many things, I must say, the work going on in this section is truly transformative. No lack of effort or resources being expended. Let's hope it is being done to high standards.

It is interesting how much of the line is ready for fourth track, but there are gaps, and the section west of Pape is going to be a while (but coming along very rapidly).

Close in terms of timing, but I was on a Stouffville run to Milliken for bbq at Chako (highly recommended!).

Yes, but more than a year behind schedule.

For all the resources, there have either not been enough or the work rate has simply been lacking.

As to quality. The thought of all that graffiti on the poorly thought out sound walls irritates me no end. Different material choices, use of ivies/vines could have really mitigated that.

Yes, that looks like the start of construction for the second platform. If so, good to see.

I believe the bridge over Sheppard needs to be widened to accommodate the second platform? That may take a while to get done.
