GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

^ It also seems like the renderings went with the CN Rail colour scheme for trains instead of CPCK. But only us rail geeks here would notice/care. It also appears to be a mixed freight training heading to GM but I thought the spur was used almost exclusively for autoracks.

Have a closer look at the freight in the second render......I could swear that's a coal train.

Of course that render is sited on the mainline, not the spur; but still, I don't remember many coal trains passing through town.

Thanks for pointing out the renders, I actually didn't scroll that far down...........LOL; let me bring those forward for everyone:

I’m rather stunned that this is only slated for completion by 2041 - almost 20 years from now. It took a quarter of the time to build the Trans Canadian railroad.

Why so much time?
That's a miscommunication - the press release stated the expected ridership in 2041 and the journalist misinterpreted that as the opening date.

Actual opening date isn't known right now, but it will be sooner than that. If I had to guess, It would probably be closer to 2029-2031 range.

Does that last section mean that all stations are more or less ready for GO Expansion now?

No.

It means a variety of early works which set the stage for that are complete. A large variety of necessary works are not.
