GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

8 bus bays at the new Woodbine Go Station. I wasn't expecting a bus terminal.
I assume Mississauga routes 30 and 11, GO and YRT being extended to the new GO station, and a better connection for TTC route 927? And somehow route 37A.

It will be interesting how bus routes are realigned to this new Station. Maybe TTC can have a few routes run out of this station , instead of forcing the route to some subway Station like most TTC bus routes?

You would think the Finch West LRT would be Lumped into this project announcement , especially after a 6 year delay anyways.

... I have no idea which concerts Ford believes have happened at that location but I've never heard of any...
There is a multi-purpose entertainment venue (as I've mentioned in another thread, despite its name, not really a theatre) there, that now looks like it has an increased number of shows happening from the somewhat more sparse schedule when it first opened about 18 months ago.

I wonder what will happen to all the TTC routes in the area? Even for those living near woodbine the station is in the middle of nowhere since it's way south of the Casino/exdale blvd.
The 45 bus that passes Etobicoke north does pass a lot of residential areas

Yes, if they want people to get somewhere from the GO train station, including the casino and race track grandstand, TTC and Miway buses will have to somehow be routed to stop there once it opens, I would suppose through the Woodbine property and around the outside of race track. Unless they're also going to build a lot of sidewalks, no one is walking anywhere from there, as the location at present is entirely pedestrian unfriendly.

So is the name of this station Woodbine GO station as show in the renders of the station ? Isn’t there already a Woodbine TTC station. I thought they wanted to avoid having stations with identical names.
Look at the rendering from the announcement. Woodbine GO is not the final station name as indicated. I'd expect something like "Woodbine Racetrack" - which is honestly fair to give the developer the naming rights when they have contributed so much cash.

The developer might want the name to be a bit broader thematically than just the racetrack - the whole idea is it's to be a broader development and destination district and not just the races.

"Queens Plate" would be appropriate and a bit more thematic. Then we'd have two transit waypoints on the system whose names start with Queens, both accessing enterprises producing piles of horsepoop.

Tracks have been shifted back to where they were in the first place for Confederation station. The 2nd track base is in place and it will be some decades before the track is install along with a switch(s).

All the shelter glass is cover up with green paper for protection from the rail base of the shifted track with a fair amount of work still to be done for the platform area and the main entrance. Parking lot is strip. New fencing being installed on the south side and to the bush area to the west.

Ready to open in September.

Thanks for the update. Have you heard anything regarding service levels on opening day?

Is that the heating in the platform?

That's what all the endless Long Branch announcements are about then when I travel to Exhibition or Mimico.

I don't about the announcements other than coaches not servicing the station due to new tunnels and platforms being built as phase 1 including heated platforms like the rest that have been built. Phase 2 will see the current platform and tunnel rebuilt after phase 1 opens,

So what did they do on the stoufville line this weekend? Did they make any further double tracking?
