Anyone know of any good fireplace showrooms or design stores with "nice" stuff?

I've seen ugly/tacky fireplace showrooms.

How deep are your pockets?

I'll make one suggestion - Tartaruga Design on Bertal Road in York, because it has some incredible fireplaces, that fit many types of interior designs.

Just found an incredibly stylish fireplace perfect for condo living (like at Casa for example):

I have never heard they are illegal, they sell them at a lot of stores now.

I found a manufacturer in Montreal that makes nice stuff www.eco-feu.com, I believe the sell them at a place on Davenport near Dupont.

There is another place called Pureflame (google ethanol fireplaces concord) and it should come up.

That would be Fireplace Concepts, which is where I eventually got mine (Town & Country).

We went to the place at Dupont & Davenport - for a "real" gas fireplace installed in a house, they start at about $10K and go up from there in a hurry.

We spoke with another place in the Beach, and they quote about $2.5K-$3K for something that looks rather chintzy.

Any other options that are somewhere in between?

My current favourite, the Conmoto Roll Fire model http://www.conmoto.com/rollfire.html?&L=1 (photo above) goes for around 2500 Euros, which would be under $4000 Canadian shipping included. I'd buy that model if I was in the market for a fireplace!

I also love this one by metalfire: http://www.metalfire.eu/en/#13

And of course the fireplace at Oddfellows on Queen West is gorgeous: http://www.focus-creation.com/UK/index.asp# particularly their free-standing models http://www.focus-creation.com/UK/loader.html
