I thought this one is "evocative". A Toronto Archive pic. Great composition. Technically very nice too.

In terms of the last photo, Syracuse is relatively unknown today, yet the architecture and midrise scale around the Erie Canal looks very impressive, almost like a European city. Too bad the canal was filled in. Here's what the scene looks in modern times.

I love the sailor suit on the little boy and the mannequin in the doorway.

Is that a phone number on the dry goods store....GE (something) 5019 (or 3019)?

There appears to be a three-digit address on the left-hand store--looks like 388 or 588; and there's part of a number on the right-hand store, partially obscured.

Hey FAC33, "touring" with Street View: I find it useful to check out the neighbourhood around a hotel in a strange city before I make a booking; places to eat, shop, etc.
