Imagine if we proposed a white school. What would we teach? You'd have to cover the histories, cultures and languages of every European country, plus Russia, Ukraine (yes, they're Europeans too), Israelis (are Jews allowed in the white club?), white Africans in South Africa, Kenya, etc., South Americans of European descent, Australians and Kiwis, Canada's first European settlers, etc, etc, etc. At the end of the day, why should an English speaking white kid born in Toronto have to know about the Dutch Royal Family or what South Africans like to eat? I'm a history buff, so I'd appreciate it all, but a white school would be ridiculous.

No, the ideal "white" school of our time would be constructed according to Christian Lander principles, i.e. lots of hanging at Starbucks or anyplace with free wi-fi; lots of Zooey Deschanel bangs; lots of praise to President Obama...

I think the point is that it'd push to attract black children who are ancestors of American or other slaves.

That's certainly not been publicly stated, AFAIK. BTW, we rarely if ever had black slavery in the Canadian colonies (yes, someone will now dig up an example), not even at the height of slavery's popularity as a labour source in the British Empire. So, why do we have to deal with the issues of American or other slaves?

I think that's a good point about white versus black schools. It just starts to sound like segregation all over again. I don't support black schools. But I support single-sex schools. Single-sex learning at least has a biological reason. "Racial" ones don't (especially considering race doesn't actually exist, at least not genetically).
