Yes, I know that this website is UrbanToronto, but I am curious to know what you think of this article I saw in the Metro:

A local real estate agent may be facing legal kryptonite after DC Comics threatened to sue him over his brand, ‘Real Estate Superhero.’

Realtor Ian Brett, who also markets himself as ‘Captain Vancouver,’ after the city’s namesake, George Vancouver, received a stern warning from DC Comics’ lawyers on Jan. 9, 2017.

According to a letter published on Brett’s website, DC Comics wants him to withdraw his trademark application for “Real Estate Superhero” and to stop using a red and yellow shield symbol, reminiscent of Superman’s ‘S’.

What do you think? I find it interesting. Captain Vancouver's letters to Superman make my day.

The irony, given how a) Superman was co-created by a Canadian and b) DC treated him rather badly while he was alive.

Though in all honesty, it should have been Captain Toronto, not Vancouver given that backhistory. And of course, the IP law firm in question is in Toronto...

We would need to find an expert realtor in Toronto to be "Captain Toronto." Captain Toronto and Captain Vancouver would take on the IP law firm in question.

DC Comics did not treat the Canadian co-creator of Superman well and DC Comics made billions off the Superman IP.

Despite what DC Comics say, Superman does not own the sea, the sky, the colour blue, or the very act of ripping out one's shirt.
