Not a fan of how Winona to Alameda will see the bike lane placed in the door zone, as well as that short Oakwood to Glenora stretch. Other than that, it's certainly an improvement over the current conditions including extending the bikeway northwest from Winona to Dufferin.

I also saw on the cycling public consultation page something regarding Brimorton, but unless my eyes deceive me, I'm not seeing that many improvements proposed. No public meeting or presentation slides are available, but there is a note to submit your comments by e-mail by Sunday, December 7. I sent this to Toronto East Cyclists to see what they can read from this.

A few minor changes to turning radii, adding bump outs and such at various side street intersections.

The main change covers only 156m of the route, but adds the low jersey barrier for that portion.

If this is still Grascan's the current project manager for the City needs to be on the phone every damned day to their counterpart to convey the need for 15+ people on site and a 7-day work schedule.

If that's not met with an appropriate response, then the Mayor needs to speak with their CEO about their future with City contracts.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but many decades ago, I thought these older stairs had a "channel" (gutter) that you could put your bike wheels in to smoothly walk your bike down the stairs. I guess they don't do that anymore? or, maybe it was just something I started doing when I saw it.

Which older stairs? There were never stairs from the Dundas bridge.

But certainly there are stairs in the City that have bike runnels (that's what the channel for the bike wheels are called).

Maybe we're thinking about the Riverdale Park stairs

Can't help but look at the new stairs and wonder how difficult it will be to get a bike up and down. Looks like more twisting and turning than the Riverdale Park stairs above.

Yep, That! I used to always tuck my wheels in those gutters when using the stairs, wherever I found them in the city.

I'm just thinking that these new stairs on the Dundas Bridge/Don River don't have them (by default anyway) and if this is a new template for stairs down to trails... well. I guess I shall see once the railings go in.

Mid-Humber Gap is at council today. The Weston Golf Club has helpfully provided the following graphic:

I for one would like to thank them for their attention to this matter and implore all of you to please stay off of the proposed path when any hurricane force winds roll through Toronto. Don't forget, Hurricane Time is when our phones sound off that crazy alarm!

The Letter from the Golf Club with that image can be found here:


The letter appears to confuse bike path with 'Structure or Building' in respect of floodplain regulation.
