Condo deals

$588/month in condo fees...not sure on the square footage but damn. You could be over a grand a month in condo fees/taxes/insurance.

And ya, it's in the hood. If you haven't spent time in Regent Park, definitely do your homework. Visit in the morning, afternoon, and night to get a feel for the area. It's not as bad as it once was but there is a different demographic moving in there lately...

Yeah, not sure why the fees are so high. But at $518psf, it seems like a decent deal, right? If I'm looking for somewhere slightly closer to ttc, maybe by a few blocks, is it reasonable to expect to pay $550psf for a slightly smaller place?

What do you mean by the demographic lately? I at one point was pretty interested in this area not too long ago but my girlfriend got scared off by everyone LOL...so we ended up somewhere else. But I see good value here.

@ $429K, This seems like a good deal to me, but it's in Regent Park... thoughts?

It sounds like a good deal. But you should check the prices very well. It’s always good if you have a second option. Choose your real estate dealer wisely. I know these dealers in furnished apartments and luxury condos. I rented a condo in Greater Toronto area through them.

I would say this is a good deal:

...considering that the same unit, 14 floors below and completely walled in by an office building, is only $3000 cheaper:

...And the same square footage in a much narrower unit is somehow more expensive:

...Or this glorified bachelor with a windowless bedroom that is an an arguably inferior building:
