You don't have to know anything. There is condo legislation but no enforcement...you can do whatever you want.

That is absolutely untrue - the Ontario Condominium Act sets out very clear rules for how Condominium Corporations must be run and if a Board contravenes the Act any owner can apply to the courts for redress.

The CCI also published as very useful book by Gerry Hyman (who writes the Condo Q & A column in the Saturday Star) "Condominium Handbook (Ontario)" You can buy it through the CCI website and an archive of Hyman's columns is on the Star website.

Exactly, the owner has to pay for legal council in order to have the existing legislation enforced. This is not right. It the same as a victim being required to sue a thief in order to get any redress.

If you read the posts on CCI's website, or CAFCOR or ACMO, you'll see that the only way to enforce legislation is though the courts.
