Welcome, and thanks for posting this. A great glimpse into the past.

What I find interesting is that the Addison dealership is visible in this photo. I had no idea it was that old. It has got to be one of the oldest exisiting dealerships anywhere.

Chapman and Oxley's Toronto Hydro building, on Carlton just east of Yonge, is under construction. And look at all that parkland at St. James Square - the Normal School is still there, to be demolished in the 1960's for Ryerson. Part of the entrance survives in the quad.

Is that a church on Carlton across from the u/c hydro building?

Thanks for posting that photo.

If you've been following my Sketchup project, you would have known that I was looking for the right photo to test out the new Photo Match feature on Sketchup 6. Guess what... this is the perfect photo for a Photo Match with my Eaton's College Street model... and guess what... Photo Match works!

It's been said a zillion times but I'll say it again... damn, it's a shame the entire College Park wasn't built.

There seems to a neat church sitting on what is now the site of Met/Encore, and I wonder what those buildings north of the Normal School on Gerrard are, with turrets and all that.

nice rendition wylie! I will second that Ganj, such a shame it never saw full fruition.

college park

I would also love to see that building in the skyline, but how do you think that would affect the city's current skyline?

I mean, would the TD center have been built as it is with all that office space at college park?

It makes you think. . . would any of the 500ft+ buildings exist in their current form if College park was built in its entirety?

How sad is that? They should have just built around it. Would have given Ryerson that "U of T" feeling.

Re: college park

It was the location for the museum that later became incorporated into the ROM.
