Cities: Skylines (videogame)

I'm actually surprised they got away with this since it has close Twitter similarities. Seems like an infringement. It's kinda an annoying feature in the game, but does help me pinpoint problems.
Good thing that there's a mod to remove all Twitter-like features in-game (right down to making the mascot disappear completely).

W...T...F......man, where was this 15 years ago?

Looks like I'd need a serious hardware upgrade though to play around with this beauty.

I took a good look at some of the more popular Cities: Skylines YouTubers and they have at least 16GB RAM.

Many of those players also do videos for the similarly intensive simulation game Planet Coaster.

Both games are enjoyable and both require very high specs just to be enjoyable.

To be honest, my computer is panting when this city is in full swing. I've already gotten mods that remove some of the AI-intensive gameplay (such as commercial buildings being fully stocked without the need for industry, which means I can eliminate most of my industrial zones), among others.

For me, this game is meant to be a sandbox of creativity. I don't want to be held back by budgets, naysayers, my computer... I have enough problems staying within budgets in real life, this game is my escape!

I worked on some parks this week. That’s it for now. I’m getting too busy to game these next few weeks. Parklife will have to wait.

16GB is fairly de rigeur nowadays - and RAM is easy to upgrade.

Yeah, my laptop can't hack that. It can barely keep up with my keyboard midi inputs.

Laptop in general is bad for gaming anyways - there are exceptions, but then those tend to look and act like bricks.

Parklife will have to wait, I am currently occupied by Stellaris Distant Stars and will be so in the foreseeable future.

Some of the infra. I use this game to get over my shitty commute and the generally shitty transit picture here. :D

Is it? hahaaa.....I used to build my own computers in the 90s and was the first one in my building with internet (also, obviously in the 90s) but I completely dropped out of the whole computer scene right after I failed to beat Baldur's Gate (circa 2001). I even gave up on computer programming that I was studying in school. Now I'm just a semi-Luddite with a Sony Ericsson phone and a record collection.
