Blue Jays

I have also heard that this could be pivotal for the World Series' international ratings.
It could be. Certainly it will be popular in Canada. For international it is tough for games at 8:00 p.m. ET, as that's 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. in Europe, and 9:00 a.m. in Japan, so they may only get a big draw on the Saturday games there.

the Blue Jays having a Jesse Owen moment - dancing into the belly of the beast that is 'murica 2025. Not just 1990's retro but also 1930's! Time to up my blood pressure medication.

Heartbreaker for the Mariners. They've never made it to the WS and blew a 2-0 game advantage.

I've visited Seattle once around 10 years ago, had a reasonably enjoyable time, and have no personal ill will against people there. But on a current sporting level after seeing Mariner fans cheer as Springer got hurt in Game 5, it felt like poetic justice seeing him hit the game winning 3 run homer in game 7.

My European friends have the games streamed/on video after the fact.

They still find them enjoyable the next day as long as no one tells them the outcome.

We were in England back in the days of the bat flip and the Rangers. We stayed up late huddled over our devices to watch the games live.

When I was in Hungary this past July, I watched a couple Jays game but it was hard.

The 7:07 pm starts meant the game started at 1:07 am. I really only watched the afternoon games that started just after 1 pm.

I watched the Jays play Cleveland dubbed in Hungarian which was cool but I must say, Baseball confused the hell out of my cousins who only watched it to be supportive of me.

Yeah, baseball has a massive list of rules and strategies, but it feels like 90% of them are easy to learn and understand, and it's only that 10% which rarely come into play where unless you actually played baseball you have to scratch your head and wonder WTF is happening. So it's an easy sport for people to get a sufficient understanding of the game to enjoy even if you've never seen it before.

Cricket feels like the inverse to me. It's like you need to be an actual regular cricket player to know what the hell is going on.

Exactly. I was surprised by the cheering when he went down and booing when he got up, normally the Mariner fans are good, but that was not a show of class.

Any predictions for the series?

Something tells me it will be Jays in 6.

The Dodgers are overconfident. They think that sweeping the Brewers and the Reds, steamrolling the Phillies and having Ohtani will win it all for them.

We have bats who can put men on base as well as hit home runs. The Dodgers can hit dingers but you need more than 1 run to win a game. The Jays can put men on base, hit a homer and be up 3 runs within an inning whereas the Dodgers just hit a homer.

It won't be easy but if we can get to Ohtani, and scramble to bullpen we can pull this off.

On Monday the Jays won 4-3.

That’s one run that won the biggest game possible, other than the World Series.

It often only takes one run.

Yes but that one run lead was caused because the jays hit a three run homer.

Without men on base, a solo homer would have caused them to lose 3-2
