wait... Chanel opted for a space without display windows? Is this their permanent new location or is it temporary?
wow, really? Bloor/Balmuto's the one with re-development potential though. Strange.Scotiabank is closing their location at Bloor/Church and moving those accounts to the Bloor/Balmuto location.
Permanent... and I find that odd too. Empty windows.wait... Chanel opted for a space without display windows? Is this their permanent new location or is it temporary?
The lack of display windows emphasises its exclusivity. The word "Chanel" on the facade says all one needs to know. Chanel's target customer isn't the one wandering by who sees a handbag in a window and says "oh, I will check out this new purse shop."
In the fashion world window displays are a pure form of art. Chanel has some of the of the most iconic window displays in fashion industry.
So? The windows (with muntins) in this heritage facade do not lend themselves to "the most iconic window displays in fashion", and they don't need to shove handbags into the small windows to attract their desired clientele. The blank windows seem way more effective here. The front of the store looks pretty damn good.
Zegna will be opening a boutique next to Hermes in the old Pottery Barn Kids space. I believe it is about 2500 square feet. The movie theatre facade is still for lease. Still looking to confirm Gucci's move to Yorkville Ave.
