Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

This is a reminder for Alto’s 2025 Annual Public Meeting, which will take place:

"Alto’s 2025 Annual Public Meeting (APM) will take place virtually on Thursday, August 28, at 10:45 a.m. ET. The public is invited to watch the live webcast. The event will feature Martin Imbleau, CEO of Alto; Robert Prichard, Chair of the Board; and Marie-José Nadeau, Vice Chair."

And yet, registration requires you to enter a "company/organization". I mean, yeah, you can fake whatever, but it's not entirely inviting to the general public.

Ugh. I literally just heard "it will give people in smaller communities direct access to major urban centres".

I'm guessing that means every town along the way will be getting or begging for a station? So great then, it'll knock what, 15 minutes off the current VIA route?

They've been clear so far that they are not moving away from the 7 stops announced. So this could be a reference to just Peterborough and Trois-Rivieres.

"surveying" is starting in the next few months the CEO said. I wonder if that means physical staking?

There may be some, but only for marking purposes. This survey would then be used to then do the actual drawings, of which a construction survey is done.

4k km of steel tracks required, per the CEO. Route is 1k km.
That makes sense for double track the whole length.
