I took a look at Street View for this location. It's amazing how many of the old Victorians on Yonge between Dundas and Bloor seem to have vacant upper levels and are only used as storefronts. You don't really notice it unless you look closely at the upper windows. It's almost like you're in downtown Hamilton.

It's sad to see it when there's so much demand both for commercial and residential space in the city. It could be a really nice area with the existing built form, much of which has heritage value. This restoration is a nice step in that direction.

We need more and more of this thinking along Yonge to clean up that stretch without losing much of its spirit.
Especially now, that some of the bigger towers between College and Wellesley are finished and you no longer have larges swaths of construction scaffolding. Similar to this reno I passed by the other day at 556 Yonge. Great job!
