Yeah, they have been selected - and are moving towards SPA.

No City press release about who won the RFP because of the Election quiet-period, I think... but also because I expect that nobody wants to be asked about the status of the other HOUSING NOW sites.
 
Not going to see any real action on any Housing Now site until/if interest rates moderate and/or one, two, or three levels of government get serious about supporting affordable housing in the current climate.

They did say in the DRP that they've been given a mandate to have this open by 2026 which seems.... aspirational. Nice design though!

I do feel that the towers need to be 50m taller for the location. But other than that, a fairly decent proposal.

Built by 2026 does seem very aspirational, construction needs to start with the next 6 months to make that a possibility.

I don't believe that I see a material change in the renders, so I won't repost, see @DavidCapizzano 's post above for renders.

I'm not going to post the Landscape Plans as I don't think the form would be useful to most.

I will say, they show the same attention to detail we've come to expect from Cormier, and that's very encouraging.
 
Update on this at next week's CreateTO meeting.

CMHC financing is still pending!! (true across every Housing Now site...... what housing crisis?)

They do have a construction target date.........but it's obviously dependent on near imminent financing approval.

Target construction is Q2 2023 (by June 30th).
 
Update on this one to next week's CreateTO meeting.

It appears as though the terms of the agreement have been revised to reflect new economic realities, but that most of the City-building components, including the affordable housing remain in tact.

Notice that as per that report CMHC had yet to sign off. Hopefully coming shortly, but they've taken far, far too long on far too many projects.

Basically the entire private sector-delivered component of the affordable housing market is caught up in the same problem with CMHC at the moment. Effectively, they -- well, really, the Federal Government -- have not been willing to amend requirements for programs like RCFI and MLI Select, which are essential to making the math work on these types of projects.

It is incredibly frustrating, and very much not for lack of both private and public sector stakeholders screaming it to the Feds and CMHC leadership.
