A new permanent crane is going up at Sheppard/McCowan.
Pictures from Wednesday and Thursday.

Very cool! This must be that blue scaffolding I noticed them slowly building up for several months now.

Do we think that they will have to use it to lift tunnel segments into the pit or perhaps to fix the TBM?
What could it accomplish that the red crane could not

It could also be for building the station.

Building the station already? They only dug 1/6 of the total tunnel length so far 😂
As far as I know the site is still needed to deliver tunnel segments and remove soil.......

Would this be able to be used as a pass though for the TBM and have the stuff that is needed be lowed or raised here?

I would assume that this is the crane that will eventually build the station.
Maybe they ordered the full size crane for now, expecting to be much further along on the tunnel, and so they're just going to be using it for tunnelling support for the time being.

Silly question: Is this the two stop subway thing?

Edit/Clarification: I did not bump this thread to ask this...someone asking for updates on a thousand threads like this to which presumably got put into moderation before me did... >.<
