This is a public housing site redevelopment, similar to Regent Park but on a smaller scale. This is along the future LRT in the east end of Hamilton.

an older site plan, which has since swapped out some townhouses along the Red Hill Valley for some more apartment blocks (reflected in the rendering below). The development features a replacement public housing building, currently under construction, as well as new market apartments and townhouses. The Townhouses are currently in marketing I believe.

Not liking this.

I see surface parking that cuts off a logical road ROW (connection between two existing roads) which would help integrate the area into the larger community.

Regent Park and to a lesser degree Alexandra Park are both based on reconnecting the community to its neighbours.

I also see surface parking surrounding the apartments.

I can't intelligently comment on the appropriateness of the density, or whether any of the site is well suited to retail...............but I feel this could have been better than what we're getting.

It's off any major roads so retail doesn't make sense. It's also a pretty suburban location so the surface parking isn't surprising, if unfortunate.

If it's any consolation, the pre-cast here will be painted which should make this look a bit better.

Fall Construction Update at Roxboro in Hamilton
-Digging continues for the apartment buildings with the drill truck, excavators and construction dump trucks using transport dirt to a giant dirt pile site.
-Townhouses at Roxboro with the first few units nearing completion and couple of units are still building with a wood to build top of the the roof.
-Road construction on Queenston Road has started with a giant hole digging up to install Water/Sewer lines to the apartment buildings

Construction update at ROXBORO (March 1, 2023)
-The Urban townhouses crews is installing the third floor with wood, The townhouses on new street (Dryden Lane) still not completed yet, and the townhouses on Bingham Rd and Reid Ave N will be digging in spring/summer.
-The First Apartment building completed and the name and the street will be 8 Roxanne (Formerly Lang Street)
-The Second Apartment Building crane is up but crews are still digging dirt with excavators.
