I found this development application while exploring the City of Vaughan's PLANit portal.

The development consists of two 18-storey buildings, two 21-storey buildings and 156 townhouses:

There aren't many other places in Vaughan where you could get away with a development like this before the NIMBY's would have it squashed.

That's got an olde timey 1990s feel to it… but then I don't know which is more up-to-date—the site plan, or the rendering—the layout of the towns does not match. I find the rendered layout preferable, but it still looks a mistake to me: unnecessary street along the ravine edge, units should face the central street, commercial should be better located, etc.

Worry not, plans submitted this month have Quadrangle as the architect and the buildings look a whole lot better than that crap above. Unfortunately nothing but line drawing elevations appear to have been submitted, but it's better than SRN's crap.

Seems like the townhomes are still being designed by RN Design.

I grew up in this area and was surprised to see condos going up. The adjoining parcels belong to a closed dump (The Thackeray Landfill) and ~15 years ago Toronto Hydro installed one of the city's first biogas electricity plants. :)
