Recently completed rear addition to the TD Bank building at Medland & Dundas West in the Junction area.

One of the nicest application of corten as a cladding material I've seen in the city. Hope this also sets an example of how gentle intensification can be accomplished among existing buildings with similar settings.

Corten works pretty well here, the top looks like afterthought.. Although terrace setback helps to hide it, it still seems like a lost opportunity to make it complete..
Anyway, overall it is a nice addition to Junction area fabric..

From the Junctioneer:

The Junction BIA received the 2023 Mural Award for “Trackside9,” which was painted by local muralist Megan Oldhues and animated by Benjamin Mitchley. Located at the rear of 2945 Dundas St W., this 1,008 sq ft mural pays homage to the spirit that runs through the veins of the neighbourhood’s youth. It is a visual testament to the beauty of growing up amidst the clatter and rhythm of the railway. The Junction’s identity is intricately entwined with these industrial threads, enriching our lives with unique character, vibrancy, and a greater sense of belonging.
